The purpose of the Conference is to explore the issues that may affect the persistence, graduation, and employability of Hispanic students in the STEM disciplines. This presentation will demonstrate the potential that can be released when these issued are resolved.
The speaker will describe his experiences in college and in industry – the issues encountered and overcome; the activities undertaken to earn the education and prepare for his first job; the amount and type of support received from his alma mater. The speaker will also provide his perspective on the challenges that remain and how academia might team with industry to address them.
